In Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, in French Guiana, Samuel Fania swapped delinquency for dance. Using his company Jeunes Sans Limites, he guides young boys and girls from working-class neighbourhoods. When the Paris Opera’s Academy invites them to create their own dance show at the Opéra Bastille, two worlds that seemed to be completely opposed get to meet.
The film tells the story of this meeting between Guiana and Paris thanks to dance. On both sides of the ocean, bodies find a common language, dance, that questions history, legacy and borders.
